Jenna is a part of our Education Team, and is responsible for leading and developing Anacostia Watershed Society’s school-based programs by providing meaningful watershed experiences for participants of all ages through boat tours, hikes, and community events. She also assists with river restoration projects.
With a Level 2 kayaking certification from the American Canoe Association, Jenna has taught and led kayaking and paddle board classes and tours on the Potomac River for 6 years. She also helped launch the Anacostia Greenboats program at Kingman & Heritage Islands through the Department of Energy & Environment and Living Classrooms.
Jenna is passionate in the belief that we learn best through hands-on experiences as it fulfills all learning styles. She’s driven to connect all communities to the world of science and the outdoors to spark real positive change to our environment.
She is so excited to be a part of helping the Anacostia River become swimmable and fishable by 2025!
