As a Virginia native, Jamie grew up with a tireless love for the outdoors. Throughout her life, that appreciation for nature has only become stronger and inspired her passion for protecting the rivers, habitats, and ecosystems that she and many others find comfort in.
As a part of the Education Team, Jamie is responsible for facilitating meaningful watershed experiences for participants of school and community-based programs alike. With Wilderness First Aid and CPR certifications, as well as certifications from the American Canoe Association in swift water rescue and canoeing, she leverages her previous experience as an Environmental Educator with the James River Association to advocate for the Anacostia Watershed. Prior to the JRA, Jamie gained experience implementing restoration efforts as a U.S. Fish & Wildlife Technician by identifying and managing invasive species along the Rappahannock and James rivers in Virginia.
Her passion for conservation is rooted in her own outdoor experiences, and she believes that educating and connecting the community to the Anacostia will inspire and promote positive change.
